Immigration Overview for HR Professionals

To help you plan ahead and be proactive, we will discuss some common immigration issues that HR professionals and business owners may encounter. These issues include nonimmigrant work visas, maintenance of status, when to begin permanent residence sponsorship, and Form I-9 compliance tips.

About the Speaker:

Avalyn C. Langemeier

Avalyn Castillo Langemeier is a partner at Foster LLP in the Houston office and is Board Certified in Immigration and Nationality Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She has been recognized by Who’s Who Legal: Corporate Immigration, Best Lawyers in America, The Legal 500 Next Generation Partners, and the 2023 Lawdragon 100 Leading Immigration Lawyers. Avalyn was also recognized by Texas Executive Women as a 2023 Woman on the Move. Avalyn focuses her practice on corporate immigration and immigration compliance. She represents employers and individuals, including in service, academia, and healthcare. She has extensive experience with corporate compliance and immigration policy; nonimmigrant visas; and employment-based permanent residency. She also helps employers with Form I-9 compliance.
