About Wendy: 

Wendy Carmichael joined USI Southwest’s Houston office in January 2006 as the in-house ERISA Counsel, focused on helping the benefits department and clients stay compliant with requirements of various benefits laws. 

In her current position, Wendy monitors changes in benefits laws (health care reform, HIPAA, COBRA, etc.), helps clients with respect to specific legal questions (discrimination, privacy, etc.), conducts seminars to distribute legislative requirements, and writes weekly updates covering new developments and general issues regarding health and welfare plans, among many other things. Wendy earned her BA from Vanderbilt University and her JD from the University of Oregon School of Law.
