Breaking Down Racial Diversity and Unconscious Bias in the Workplace

About the Meeting: 

Employment Attorney Trisha Barita will discuss the challenges that employers face with discussing workplace unconscious bias and steps to consider to break down the barriers to communication. It will include: 

• a discussion of legal aspects related to racial discrimination or other unconscious bias 
• practical steps for employers to consider in facing these challenges 

About the Speaker:

Trisha Barita is the managing attorney at Barita Law Group, PLLC. She has been practicing law since 2004 after graduating from South Texas College of Law. She is currently the subcommittee chair for the Houston Bar  Association's TRAIN Committee, she serves on the Seeds Committee of the Association of Business and Professional Women, and has served in the National Association of Women Business Owners, the Women Contractors Association, the League City Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Women Attorneys, the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce, and the American Heart Association. 

In 2018 and 2019 she won the "Rising Star" Super Lawyers award, has won Woman of Excellence for the National Association of Women Business Attorneys, and the Business Excellence Award for the League City Chamber of Commerce. 

She focuses on employment law, commercial litigation, contract drafting and disputes, construction law, and medical/health law.
